The Lost Egyptian City

2000 years ago there used to be the Nile Delta dotted by islands, but these islands have mysteriously dissapeared. Franck Goddio, a french arheologist, decided to find out what happened. He saw a huge face emerge under water while he was on the boat with his team. Later on, when they went deeper under water they discovered Thonis-Heracleion - a lost Egyptian city 6,5 kilomtres off Alexandria's coast. There were a large monolith which must have once stood in the holiest part of the mythical temple, three collosal statues standing at 17 feet, 64 ships, old coins and the most impoertant remains of a massive temple to the God Amun-Gereb.

To today's day it isn't known how this Egyptian city ended up so deep under water.

  1. Aren't there any theories as to how this city ended up submerged in water?
And what is the topic you've chosen for your blog?

    1. There's a theory that it sank beacuse of the flood that turned the surface on which the City was built into a liquid and all the buildings collapsed into the water.
And my topic was: underwater life.
